What are HabiStat Digital Dimming Thermostats used for?

Like all other dimming thermostats they are suitable for most heating devices but work best with basking bulbs due to their continous and variable supply of power. These thermostats give a continual readout of current temperature and time, along with power meters showing the power percentage the device is using.

There is a simple programmable timer that can be used to turn a secondary device on/off such as lighting or misting systems.

Programmable alarm with threshold setting for both low and high temperatures. Visual and audible warnings can also be set.

Our thoughts on using HabiStat Digital Dimming Thermostats

Digital thermostats are the future of the hobby and these are some of the best currently available on the UK market.

The main advantages over the standard HabiStat Dimming Thermostat is the LCD continual readout of temperature and the power meter function. We find this to be very useful because you can see how hard your device is working and if any changes need to be made to the equipment.

Built in timers ensure reliability and great for turning UV lights on/off each day and alarms are clearly a great safeguard against any sort of equipment failure.

We would advise not to rely 100% on the calibration setting of any thermostat, this can vary depending on the probe position and it's good husbandry practice to manually check the temperature with a digital thermometer.
