This page covers questions relating to shipping charges, estimated delivery times, regional differences and which couriers we use.
We aim to dispatch all orders as quickly as possible Monday-Friday, excluding bank holidays.
Shipping charges and delivery times vary depending on the type of product you are purchasing, the total weight, and in some cases; where you live. The Exotic-Pets.co.uk checkout system will automatically default to the correct delivery method when you add items to your basket.

Items sent to more remote locations may take longer to reach you. If you believe your order is late please contact us.

Standard Delivery: We make every attempt to dispatch orders the same working day but please allow up to four working days for your order to arrive.
Express Deliveries: Unfortunately, express deliveries are not available for items marked as Off Site or for orders that contain Livefood or Frozen products. Express delivery is available to most of the UK mainland, and is selectable on the checkout page when placing your order. Once your order has been dispatched you will receive an email notification with your tracking number.
Frozen Orders: These orders are usually dispatched Monday-Thursday via an AM next day courier service. We pack them carefully in polystyrene boxes with ice packs to ensure they arrive frozen. Once your order has been dispatched you will receive an email notification with your tracking number.
Reptile Courier: Our courier collects from us every Wednesday for delivery on Thursday. This is an overnight door to door service throughout the UK. The cut off time for these orders is Tuesday AM to receive them the same week. Any orders received after this will be delivered the following Thursday. Once your order has been dispatched our courier will give you a call with an approximate ETA.
Invertebrate Orders: These orders are usually dispatched Monday-Thursday via an AM next day courier service. Once your order has been dispatched you will receive an email notification with your tracking number.

International shipping is something that is under consideration and will likely be available in the future on select items.
How long does the delivery of livefood or frozen food take?
We recieve fresh livefoods every Tuesday from our wholesale partner and work quickly to dispatch all pending orders as quickly as possible. These orders are usually sent via Royal Mail 1st Class unless combined with other heavier or bulkier items.
Specialist pet foods such as live and frozen food risk perishing if in transit over a weekend and therefore cannot be shipped on a Friday. When compared to ordinary pet food and pet supply items these orders can take a little longer to reach you, however this does ensure they are recieved as fresh or frozen as possible!
What happens if I'm out when the courier attempts delivery?
At Exotic-Pets.co.uk we do our upmost to ensure that your order is delivered on time; you will always receive an email notification to let you know when your order is on its way.
It’s worth remembering, that you can place requests for delivery days in the Order Notes box during the checkout process or you can even ask us to ship your order to an alternative address.
If for whatever reason you do miss the delivery on the first attempt, then our couriers will often leave you a card stating further instructions.
Please note: With regret, if your order contains perishable items such as livefood or frozen food and you're unavailable to receive them on the first delivery attempt we won’t be held responsible for spoiled goods.
